This is the only version of this song I ever liked, for reasons which are obvious.

Not to start a debate on Equal Temperament -vs- Just Intonation, but notice the roughness of the chords on this ET tuned harp (Terry McMillan played Golden Melodies). To me, this slight roughness adds to the sound and feel of this song. A harp with JI tuning just wouldn't have been the same in my opinion. Sometimes the smooth sounding chords sound nice on JI tuned harps, and then sometimes they're just too smooth for my taste - depends on what song, style, etc.

I've always thought GMs sound fine when playing chords, double stops, or splits. Terry makes it sound even better.

I remember the video to this song with the kid dancing. Good stuff.

BTW, Johnny and June played harmonica!

I had a dream about a Golden Melody last night and the chords sounded Terrible! Seriously.
