I have unilaterally modified the first paragraph of the forum creed, the paragraph dealing with registration procedure. It now states clearly what has long been our working policy but has heretofore not been spelled out: membership in this forum is contingent on your willingness to supply us with your real name and a working email address. We're not playing games here. When a member named gritsncatfish turned out to have the first name "grits" and the last name "catfish," he became a former member. We're not playing around here. Please don't play us.
Here's the new first paragraph:
NOTE: If you'd like to be a member of this forum, please register. Please register ONLY ONCE. No matter what handle you choose, please use your real name when you register (i.e., where the registration form asks for "first name" and "last name") or you will not be approved. Please allow one full week for approval. If you haven't received an automated approval/disapproval message by that time, please feel free to email me (my address is on the "contact" page) and nudge me. Also: since we receive a lot of spambot membership requests, please try to choose handles that don't closely resemble typical spam, i.e, trademarked male potency drugs, luxury watches, etc. If you choose LeVitraRolex, for example, we will reject your application. Thanks!
