Thanks to the generous ministrations of Will Greener (a member of this forum), I'll be doing a blues harmonica clinic at Kempinska's, a general-purpose music/comedy room in London from 4 to 5:30 on Thursday, March 1.
Later that evening in the same venue, after a dinner break, I'll be playing a one-man band set ahead of Paul Pacifico's band; I'll also be sitting in with the band later on.
This will be the first formal teaching I've done in London and the first time I've played there since the summer of 1991 when Satan & Adam opened for Bo Diddley.
Needless to say, I hope to see many of you there. It should be a raucous crowd, one way or another.
If you're interested in attending the clinic, the best way...[edited to remove Will's private email!...see below...]

I am really looking forward to it. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the lesson, 4 to 5:30 is a bit too early for a lesson on a weekday, isn't it? I guess most people will be working during these hours. I certainly will be.
It would be great if the lesson time could be re-arranged.
I'll be bringing some CDs along, obviously, and will be happy to sell + autograph one for whomever shows up. I'll have SOUTHBOUND, KICK AND STOMP, and BACK IN THE GAME.
@Captainbliss. I'm almost certainly coming to the clinic and looking forward to meeting Adam and attending the clinic immensely.
I've never been to a harp clinic before, what should I expect?
Also, I won't know whether I'll be able to attend the show until the actual day. Would I be able to buy tickets for the show while at the clinic or does it have to be in-advance only?
Also, will cameras and video be allowed in the clinic?
Will forum members wear their forum names as a badge so we can recognise each other? (If you know what I mean?).
I think you can tell I'm excited.
I hope Adam has a great time in our city. That little part of London just off of Fleet Street and near St Pauls cathedral is absolutely soaked in history. I love it.
@capn. Like a pratt I posted this on the forum and the facebook page. Don't reply to both, one will do. Hmmmm!

Cameras are certainly allowed. I always encourage people to bring some form of recording device as well--audio or video--so they'll have a record of what we did for their own personal use. When I do clinics, I make clear that I'm trying to create a safe space in which, if I call on somebody and they play....ah...not as well as me, their every move won't turn up on worldwide media the following day. In other words, video from clinics is not to be uploaded to YouTube. (Performances are another matter. I don't care what people do on that front.) So far, everybody has honored my request.

You know guys if I was going then I would record the Gig for all to watch. As I cant get down to London on that day could someone take up the challenge and record the gig for me and us all who can't make it????
I can't help I'm afraid. I don't have good enough kit and don't think I'll be able to make the actual show after the clinic. Hope to take stills at the clinic though.
Hey Guys, just a thought. What happens when you have a load of hyped-up blues harpists, fresh out of the clinic, waiting for a gig, with St. Pauls Cathedral just down the road?
Just ripe for a "flash mob blues busk" if you ask me?
This could be a YouTube opportunity that shouldn't be missed. Ideas anyone?
you needs to go somewhere really busy and one of you start playing then the rest of you gradually one at a time wander up and join in then once you are all in, just stop at the end of a 12 bar and walk away. just make sure you all have the same harp key ready. Perhaps Adam could kick it off.
Thanks Lumpy. Yeah we need to be organised and we only have a week to plan it. The opportunity will probably never occur again, especially near St Pauls.
Anyone done anything like this before?
Will we need amplified backing track?
Anyone got good video kit and skills?
You sure you can't come Oxharp? We need you man.
Someone with good organisational skills needed. HELP!
Anyone here use Twitter?
Properly handled, this could go viral on YouTube.

I'm on the ground in London (Camden). Tomorrow it is.
I brought my HG2 and I'll be pairing it with one of Paul Pacifico's amps--either an Epiphone Valve Jr. or the amp I'll be using tonight, which is a 1959 Gibsonette. I've never played through a Gibsonette. Paul says it's got 20 watts and one 10" Jensen:
That's a little more power than I need! I'll probably be using his Epiphone.
Actually, the Gibsonette looks like a smaller version of the 1960 Gibson Maestro that I've got. Should be interesting.
Good Luck with the gig tonight Adam Looking forward to tomorrow's clinic. I hope you enjoy your stay in London. Looks like the weather is going to be kind to you, thankfully.
