The last few days I have been contacted by shanester here on the MBH and Niles Fuller a photographer that documented the austin music scene in its heyday. I was around then and niles has asked me to ask the universe for some austin inspired songs. He is working with some investors to turn his photos into high end t-shirts and wants my music to be involved in the process. Niles is a world class photographer and his austin scene portraits are legendary. I am not sure where this all leading for me but I sure got some good songs out of it tonight. I see Niles (now living in NY), mark rubenstien (my longtime keyboard, bassist, drummer now living in columbus which is 30miles from my house) and myself riding down to austin this summer to play some dates. Either way, whatever happens, I got some good mojo on these songs. They reminded me of my playing sound back then. I was real trio then but now a 1 man band but the vibe is there. Hey Walter, I sure like that Austin Bounce, but you knew I would. ---------- Wisdom does not always come with old age. Sometimes old age arrives alone.

Whew, just passed the river back to South Austin!
There may be plenty of assholes on the road in Austin but they're my assholes, ha ha! Can't wait to hear these when I'm by the computer!
I want to help make this happen! It'll be a fun adventure! ---------- Shane,

Walter: I've never been to Austin; it's on my must-see-soon list. Ronnie Shellist and I were talking about putting on a clinic there or one of several other cities. If you settle on a date, please let me/us know. Some time this summer--especially mid-July--could work.

shanster: I am glad you still love austin. If I make it down there it will be interesting to see how it hits me. When we left in 96 it had gotten so expensive that musicians at my level couldn't afford to live there and live off playing anymore. Sort of the beginning phase with the live music decline around the world. The traffic got real bad too. Still it was a wonderful place to live if one could afford it. It always is a trip going back to someplace that was so special and seeing what happens with everything as it is now.
Adam: You should definetly make an austin trip. It is nothing like it was (from what my friends say that are still there) but still a wonderful place to see from a music perspective. I have no idea what my name will mean in the way of gigs. I quit the clubs there in the early 90's due to not being able to get any gigs and focused on getting a college degree. That makes it around 20 years since I was really active there. That is centuries in the entertainment world but austin is a town that tends to remember better than most. I will let you know if anything comes to pass.
Chris: thanks! I dismantled my amplified harp set up this morning. I enjoy this little journies with it but the acoustic harp is what is my real passion.

Walter, not sure how your music is going to go with photos on t-shirts but if there is documentary on the Austin blues scene I'd like to get a copy. The only Austin history I have is regular Austin city limits shows and a DVD on Antone's. Keep us informed. Can't wait to hear more. ---------- "Keep it in your mouth" - XHarp

XHarp: Niles is very eccentric. If you knew him this would make sense :-) I went to a ton of austin city limits shows. Judy and I are in the front row on SRV's/wc clark's show. It was Stevies last concert before his death. He and Charlie Sexton invited us. It was a great show. Stevie never sounded better and played quiet too!
