I recently needed to replace a damaged power tube and did a little research. I can't remember the last time I replaced one and had forgotten how many choices there were. All of the reviews described power characteristics guitar players would want to know. How about for harp players? Any tubes you prefer? Why?
BTW: Bought a 6V6S JJ tube. All of the reviews ranked it high in quality, durability and what do you know, it was the cheapest too!

I'm certainly not an expert, but JJ Electronics tubes sound warm and fat. I use them in each of the tube amp I play through. I think power tubes are sold in matched sets.

I know, crazy thing, trying to sort it all out. I just did a lot of work on my amp and it pretty much seriously kicks ass now. MUCH better EQ and response when I push it -not volume as much as tube response. Tubes? I went JJ for the pre-amp(s) and for power I went with 6L6WGC TD because they had such good reviews.
