Has anybody tried one of these? 5F2 Style Harp Amp They look to good to be true to me at that price. I'm a little suspicious that there aren't audio or video clips of the amp. As if it's what it says it is then I'd imagine it would sell really well. I'd appreciate any info on them that anyone has.

Certainly sounds interesting, but I'm suspicious too... look at the other amps and mics he's selling.

If this
"Great News ! !! Our tweed 518 amps are now available through http://www.honkin-harmonica-shop.co.uk/ with a lower gain pre-amp valve optimized for harmonica ! sure to bring a smile to a lot of harp players faces :)"
from here
http://www.vintageandrare.com/builder/C.Agnewguitars-572/blog/HonkinToms-Harmonica-Shop-36
is to be believed, I suspect it's the amp in this video

EDITED to say "the video is guitar, not harmonica..."

MrV - Yes that was my thinking. Captainbliss - Thanks for the link. Yes, it would appear that it is indeed the C.Agnew 518 amp. Strangely though the guitar version of the amp comes in at around £220, whilst the harp version is either £149 on the website or £165 on the ebay shop. Which seems a little strange to me.

Its the 510, a newer smaller version. there's a FB page discussing it. Wish I could hear a harp through it. I'm guessing the harp friendly 'tweak' is actually just the 12at7 tube swap.

There is now a video of this amp at
http://www.honkin-harmonica-shop.co.uk/g-a-tweed-518-chump-class-a-harmonica-amplifier/
Please note when viewing the video the sound is comprimised by the average quality of the camera and its internal microphone, the video is a guide only. The real sound is very full and trully great!
To explain the price difference between Ebay and the site, ebay fees can take a real bite outa yer ass and this is to help cover it if buyers do'nt make it through to the site.
Any questions please ask thanks, HT

Hi Folks, It's fair to say in the video I posted of this amp the sound was rubbish due to the quality of the video mic, so because of this I removed it. I have since recorded an mp3 with much better results.
To hear the Chump with and without delay please email me through the site and I will send you the clip.

@ Strawwoodclaw "Rosewell amps will build you a Harp Amp & lives in the UK". There are a few guys in the UK who can build you a harp amp, but no one here can build you any kind of complete amp for £159.
At this price the amps are obviously Asian imports, not necessarily a bad thing (so is the VHT & it is well regarded) & the only way to get an amp at this price. ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness

It has been a while folks but if people are still reading this post the new slightly modified version of this amp is back in stock to order today after all the UK harp nuts snapped em up and left my cupboards bare some 6 months ago!
Not anymore though, here't the link again-
