I don't know how many people are familiar with the Rev, but I am opening for him at an area club on St. Patty's Day.
The club is Bayport BBQ, which boasts itself as a Deep Blues Juke Joint. The owner is a SUPER cool guy and has worked his tail off to get his place going. They get some GREAT bands, and are the only "blues" hangout I have any real interest in in the area.
Bayport is putting on a Deep Blues Festival towards the end of June. I inquired about playing and doing a Blues 4 Kids, but he had 500 bands submit for 30 slots, so it is a long shot. It is so weird as Bayport is so unlike the rest of the local scene (in a great way).
