On Wednesday, Big Al's Deckbar has a Blues Jam, hosted by Oscar and the Blues Cats. It is on Jefferson Hwy, in Old Jefferson. Oscar is a harp player, and there are sure to be several other members of the Crescent City Harmonica Club there, Including myself. The jam starts at about 8:00 and the food is excellent.
After the jam, then you can go to Bank Street Bar and listen to Major Bacon, which is fronted by Dave Renson. Dave and Bass Player, Eloise, were the back up band for Pat Ransey, and Jason Ricci played with them when he was here. They are very harp friendly, but play difficult, frantic blues.

On Thursday evening, Andy J. Forest is currently playing at the Balcony Music Club (BMC). I cah't say enough good things about Andy J. check out some of his stuff on You Tube. Very Creative.

I will tell you the rest of Thursday on Wednesday.

Come to the weekly blues jam at Big Al's Deckbar on Wednesday night.. There are always at least a handful of harp players there, and a grip of other musicians to network with.

Thursdays.. Not too sure. Check out www.wwoz.org and look at the livewire music calendar to find any show in the city.
