I wasn't familiar with the work of Shoji Naito until the latest issue of "You Missed Monday," Joe Filisko's weekly harp focused newsletter. Went to YouTube and immediately found a short clip that makes me want to hear more. Pedigreed sound; I'm not sure what setup he's using, but he gets a kind of lazy, slightly constricted sound that reminds me of Jerry McCain crossed with Big Walter. Nice stuff, if brief:

In the few Monday Fillisko lessons I've been at, Shoji played guitar for the group lesson. Shoji also fills in as instructor when Joe is away. He also plays guitar for Eddie Clearwater. (Note: my info is a couple years old.)

Yeah, I have seen Shoji sitting in on harp at Rosa's as well as at Artis's'. He's really smooth.
