Here's a brand new music video by Alabaman gospel-blues ambassador Red Mouth, featuring me on the harp. A real f---d up version of the classic, might I say.

I actually played two layers of harp for this one: The more audible & clear one, and the second one using POG, which functions more as a organ-like background ambient. I also fiddled with Korg Kaossilator a bit for additional psychoticness.

Enjoy!

It was just brought to my attention that the door in the end of the video is actually the birthplace of W. C. Handy.

You do get blues points for that?

I like it, reminds me of a couple different musics wrapped up in one.

I love what you do on harmonica, this included, but it is quite the eccentric tune from the perspective of Red Mouth.

I get the whole alternative-fringe thing, but this is pretty over the top, lol. He seems to be pretty successful at his craft. Going back a few posts to the topic of crossing over, can you comment on his fan base, etc?

I really enjoyed that, very fresh.

The combination of the repeated dobro groove and your eery background organ harp created a great kind of unsettled soundscape to drive the intensity of the lyrics home.

Your fills were simple and dead on.

This song reminds me of some of Tom Waits more deconstructed stuff and RL Burnsides when he was playing with John Spencer.

Great job bringing a fresh presentation to some really old - school gutbucket kind of music.

Video was really pro too!
