From what I have been hearing, dub is simply playing with edited sounds. Today these pre-recorded sound bytes are layered together to form a rhythm or percussive background. We used to call it electronica. With the advent of inexpensive looping pedals, many of these background sounds can now be done on the fly. Now the one man band sounds like a full band.

Dub is a sub genre of reggae and goes back to the 60s with producers like Scratch Perry and King Tubby. A dub is usually an instrumental version of a song with the rhythm section heavily emphasised and often with long delays and reverbs added for a very trippy sound.

Dubstep has its roots in the UK Garage scene. It has distant roots in reggae dub, but they are very different styles of music.

Great playing though it is - I'm struggling to see from this clip what you're getting at?
