Crispy, You made me laugh!

However, I would like to see people survive in a jam that featured many different styles of music or in a band with pros without knowing this stuff. I suppose it can be done, but it adds to the stereotype of harp players not being musicians. To me, it will not be over till you can tell what key a song is in, what style of music it is between major, minor and blues and what are some good scales to get you through the song as well as how to arpeggiate the chords the rhythm section is playing. We've got a ways to go before dessert!
