On tuesday. He made it to 90 years old though, and he was right there in the middle of everything for all the best years.

I saw him and listened to his radio show many times.

I listened to his music, but now after reading more about him I realize that I didn't know just how deep he had got himself into the american black experience. If what I'm hearing is right, he stuck his neck out and took some hits for speaking out about what he saw going on around him.

Everybody in this world pays a high price for who they are, it's a beautiful thing when someone decides to pay the high price of doing the right thing.
