I've been bitching about this topic for long enough, I'm ordering a Lone Wolf Delay today. I've played 30+ years without delay because the ones I tried were plain shit. If I need something, rarely, I use the brown reverb tank. Over the last year I figured out I really did need a good delay. Yeah, about time, I know. I studied the deal A WHOLE LOT, TOO MUCH, and learned that I WANT a Boss DM-2 but I won't give up somewhere over $200 for one on EBay. Especially when they're coveted and I can't figure out if they'll really work or not. I found a dd-3 today in my neighborhood for $50. I ought to get it but no. I like AG's sound well enough but I've never played a digital anything that I was satisfied with. The BBE looks VERY good, especially with 2 settings, but the final difference for me is some more feedback threshold. That's not an issue I normally have any trouble with but an opportunity to turn up ~2 more pegs when guitar dude blasts his Super Reverb is the final straw. I've read and listened to everything I can find and I'm buying a Lone Wolf V1. Done. This comment says it for me:

May 17, 2010 I hate pedals and gadgets, but I talked to Mr.Landry over the phone, played some stuff through my rig and he said.."this delay is going to give you more bottom end and I promise you will like it". I bought one. He was absolutely right. No tone or power loss whatsoever...and I use the ac/dc power adaptor he sells too. I have no time to fool around with batteries. I play a shure58 through a fender reissue blues deville with one of the power tubes pulled out (to get the good sound out of it....a Bill Clarke tip). The LoneWolf harp delay really adds to the sound. I used it on gigs all weekend in various places (one being the dreaded outdoor "festival" with a know it all sound man trying to control everything) and I am totally pleased. As someone mentioned on here someplace, I am one of those who shamelessly chases the Rod Piazza sound, note for note, and give him credit where its due. (since I think he is the best alive and I have seen 'em all in a half century of action) This delay gadget has me about as close to it as you can get, I think. I am sure there are many who will challenge most of this, but please remember its my OPINION and what I like to hear..as do the crowds I work for.

Good choice. I'm partial to(and own)the V2, but I bet you're satisfied with it, as it seems you prefer the 'darker' tone. Randy is a good man. Tell him I said hello. ---------- Todd L. Greene
