I was fascinated by some of the brass combs made for harps, and I'm trying my hand at making some. My first efforts were abysmal, but I have another method in mind. Hopefully, they come out nice.

My main harp is the Manji. I tend to shy away from wood combs, since they pick up a lot of odor (cigarette smoke, etc) from being played in bars.

I have a couple questions:
With different manufacturers, do different keys have different length teeth on the combs? IIRC, Joe Filisko told me that Honer uses two different combs: one with shorter teeth for higher keys, and longer teeth for lower keys.

Which combs are interchangeable? Does a Marine Band fit a Big river? Will a Maji fit a Bluesmaster, etc.?

Thanks guys. If my method works out, I'll post some pictures (and maybe send Adam one or two for thanks. He has a sample of my craftsmanship with a harp case I made him a couple years back.
