Superb tutorial video Hakan! Congratulations on a job well done. It's nice to hear someone explain something so clearly and concisely. You nailed the essence of the Paul Butterfield tone to my ear too. I hope you do some more of these tutorials as I think you'll have a lot of subscribers.

Sounds like you are articulating the triplets on the 2 draw with your tongue. Try doing it articulating from the throat. Butter had more of a "bap-bap-bap..." kind of sound there, rather than "to-to-to..." ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness
Thanks for your comments here! This intro is very nice. I think many people like what Paul Butterfield did with this. Before I did the video I looked if there were any other lessons and I actually found one - Adam Gussow did one about this intro. But it was hard to find. It was called something with "vinyl". It was a good lecture,
Hakan, You say a 3 4 draw double stop bent is the first note, but each time you play it, you play a small blow note sound before it. I think these little chords are the glue that holds the rug together (to quote Estrin) and would like instruction on that as well. By the way, you really SOUND like Butter. Great playing!
I talked about this song--and this specific intro lick--in a video back in November 2007. Start at the 5:10 point in the vid. Great minds think alike! I salute Hakan for glomming onto this exemplary bit of Butterfield stuff:
Thank you! When I practiced, I noticed I played "a small note before..." so I tried to avoid that since, what I could hear, Paul Butterfield didn't play that. But I could be wrong - both regarding my playing and PBs playing! You could be right it should be played. Or maybe it comes natural after a while. I'm not sure of anything anymore. But it is interesting!
Of course I put a link to Adam Gussow's lessons in my video!

Nice work Hakan. It can't be easy to hit those notes and bends with the right pace and intensity - as you do, - then mange to stop short, and get clinical about it. It's scary almost.
- from another very Butter influenced player. ----------
I practiced a couple of times in front of the camera. Since I am not a talker and my english vocabulary is limited I prefer to get to the point quickly and then move on.
