@Ryan: Hey, love it! Sort of a rhumba/ska beat. Reminded me of my college days when we were getting down to Madness. ---------- "Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo"-F. Sinatra
Yes, Madness's version of One Step Beyond was an influence on the tune.
I kind of did the reverse Ska root. Most guys get into the modern stuff and go backwards. I dug the real Jamaican stuff and got into the English stuff as a result. I cannot stand the American "3rd wave" as its called. I call it Punk Rock with horns.
There is a huge tradition of harmonica in Jamaican music. Roy Richards and Charlie Organaire are the two most prominemt harmonica players of the Ska/Rocksteady/Early Reggae days.
Great playing!!! Great Groove!!! Nice when bands use the varied Rhythmic Heritage that's available in the Blues. ---------- Emile "Diggs" D'Amico a Legend In His Own Mind How you doin'
Ryan...NICE stuff... since I am fairly local to you I think 2012 is the year I finally shake your hand and catch the action live :-)...best of luck on this CD and all of your bands wishes.
