Here's a link to a review of the Lone Wolf Harp Tone+ pedal
If you don't want to spend a bunch of money on a vintage microphone, the Lone Wolf Harp Tone+ will nicely complement any of the contemporary harp mics like the Shure 520DX, Superlux D112 or the Astatic JT30-RH.

I really like this pedal
it really makes any amp sound dramatically better if they are not voiced perfectly for harp.
Really lets you dial in serious bass and the treble control allows for a fine control to cut a bit more.
It also made a fender blues deville 212 actually usable for harp. it was shrill and farty before and the volume was so uncontrollable for harp. now its sound is not far off from the turf of some much more harp friendly rigs. just one pedal.
I like that amp for guitar but hated it before now I am kind of digging it

Wouldn't the cost of said pedal and a mic be the same as a nice mic?
Obviously, there are benefits beyond mic to amp matching, right? How is it when you have a great mic and amp?
I really liked the tone of the first video. ---------- Mike VHT Special 6 Mods Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas - When it needs to come from the soul...

I just bought one. I have a Kendrick Champ clone w/8" speaker. Always get good comments when I play through it. The Champ has one knob, volume, no tone controls. This pedal only makes a great amp better. I now have more bass, bigger sound and I can fine tune the tone. It also helps when playing through a PA. Not sure I'd see a need for it with my bigger amps.

Q. Wouldn't the cost of said pedal and a mic be the same as a nice mic?
A. I guess it depends who you buy your microphone from. I've started seeing some insane prices on old bullets.
Q. How is it when you have a great mic and amp?
A. I don't think it is really necessary with a good harp amp that has a full tone stack. For example, it didn't really help out my Sonny Jr, when using a good vintage mic. I never use it with my Sonny Jr.
The pedal gives the user an opportunity to boost or trim the output of the mic. The volume control allows you to crank the amp to the sweet spot and control the volume at the pedal. You can get tone out of the amp at lower volumes.

i have one and use it occasionally.. some mics it makes sound way better... but it introduces its own problem. basically any gain in the signal that is not the amp really introduces a huge number of variables that are difficult to control in a performance situation..
if your amp does not have a full tone stack, then it is a very valuable tool, as well as if your mic does not impedance match your amp well.. not all high impedance mics are the same
