There was thread a while back regarding Pelican cases for harps. There is a huge range of models and I was wondering if there were any suggestions as to which is most suitable. I'd be looking to fit 15-20 diatonics, a chromatic, bullet mic, mic chord, inline volume control, and delay pedal with power supply.

There was also mentioned another brand of off the shelf case with Pick n Pluck inserts but I can't remember the name.

I use one regularly as a traveling kit. It's lockable, water and dust proof, and robust as anything. I'm not sure what the model is that I use, but it's about 14inches wide, 10 or 11 inches the other way, and about 6 inches thick. I used non-sloughing poly foam and made three slots that run on the "vertical" (from hinge to handle axis). The foam is just stiff enough and the slots cut narrow enough (I used a serrated filet knife and kept the cycles to advancement rate high to avoid any tearing) that I can stand 8 diatonics upright (vertical) in each of the 3 slots. Across the "top" (as you face it with the lid open, along the hinge) is a slot for a Super64. Down the right side as you face the open case, is a slot for a small digital metronome, a round space that holds an aluminum handle-less cup in which a 3 foot patch cord is wound and a Shaker mic is in the middle of, a slot that fits a small Smokey amp, and a slot for a toothbrush. Sticking vertically into the foam are a phillips and a flat blade scredriver.
I can haul it around the world, let everybody from lesser primate baggage handlers to offshore shipping manifest goons stuff it into whatever luggage conveyance they want. No problems. It may not be the most practical for ergonomic gig use. And, it certainly isn't the prettiest harp case. But I'll wager it's right up there as the toughest way you can haul around a fairly comprehensive road kit.
I'd upload photos.....but, I'm mildly retarded in the tech department.

They are bomb proof. Work well I use one for tubes and microphones.

If you are looking for no frills and can be smashed, burned, submersed, dropped they are the case to get. Easily in the company of high end flight cases for toughness

I was using one for harps and it works fine. Better than any generic commercial harp case but if I was picking a new case it would be a custom from one of the people who make cases.

Here's my Pelican case with 16 harps and my recorder. It's the 1400 model. I have two squares of foam between each harp so they're spread out further than would be necessary if you needed to pack more in. I'm not sure if everything you listed would fit in this size case, as I haven't got around to even adding my mic and cord yet, but the picture should give you a good reference point. I've had the case about ten months and it's definitely durable and waterproof.

Rich,
Those three vertical rows of harps are in essentially the same location as in mine. The difference being that I used a stiffer foam and made the 3 slots hold the harps common, rather than individual holes for the harps. That looks like the same size case.

Rich - WAY too much free space in that case. Maybe you need a microphone?
