Hi guys, i am currently studying David Harps excellent little booklet on Harmonica positions, alas it has no accompanying cd which makes it far less usefull than it could be. Does anyone know of another such booklet which does have a cd included?. Also is there a book with cd, or a dvd which focuses on specific classic blues songs that could be played with a band at jam nights or as part of a full set, stuff like Rock Me Baby, Further On Up The Road, Help Me, Crossroads etc. Tell me your recomendations please.

The book Stickman suggests is good but there is no cd
The Hal Lenoard series have a book and play along CDs. The CDs have two versions of each song...one with harp and one without. I like the Little Walter edition. Check out:

Harmonica For Dummies has both a chapter that gives you thorough one-chord lock workouts in six different positions and also a CD where you can listen, or can kill the harmonica and play along with the backing track.

I think the Hal Leonard stuff is what you are looking for. I bought the LW and Rock versions. The music quality is high. Also there is no voice so makes for good practice if you are trying to sing as well.
I haven't looked at the tabs much as I bought it mostly just for playing along ---------- MBH member since 2009-03-24
