I love it Christelle! One of my favorites tunes no matter what style played. Very classy jazzy version.
I hope you do not mind me hijacking the thread for just a sec.
We have had debates on here before about tilting the harp and using the throat for bending, overblowing etc.. When Christelle moves her right hand you can clearly see the tilt of the harp. The center of the hole being played is aimed at the center of the throat. You can see the throat working which also pulls the tongue and other mucscles along.
Also you can see that her lip blocks several holes on each side of the hole she is playing. By blocking the top couple of holes with the thumb she can cup and get the great vacuum sealed tone so many say only works for TBers.
Christelle is one of the finest lip pursing players I have heard. This is a fine example of the technique. Whats scary is ..she is still getting better.
Christelle, that was a wonderful way to start my day. Thank you! I would love to hear you trading licks on that tune with a good guitarist and piano player. Nice work.
@harpdude61, you make a good point, the camera angle demonstrates her technique, but I missed that until I read your comment.
Good ideas good feel. Ok now the next step Standards. Jaimie Aebersol has great tracks with great players no Midi there. His catalog is vast. I use volume 21 for my work out over changes. Don't do the two fives as much since I don't play that much jazz anymore. This is playing over lots of changes. This is over 20 years old. I expect you to surpass me soon but you may need a jazz teacher to help with the theory of improv it's not easy.
