This was the 4th gig with the band I'm in....The Back Talkers. I've been playing 4 1/2 years now and I'm having a blast. Sure feels wierd to get paid a little...emphasize little..lol

I don't even try to do this like SWB..except for the signature groove...still not sure I'm doing it correctly.

Anyway, constructive critique is welcome. I'm sure we'll get better with time.

Playing in the mall seemed to make us more nervous than playing in front of the beer chuggers at the local bar...lol

Really nice playing! Great variation in the solo that fitted the song perfectly. your attack shifted from that "Do as I ask you or I'm gone"-thing and kneeling down, handing the balls over-thing. I liked the part at 2:35. OB-wail? (my ears are crap) kind of fragile and definitely balls-handing material...

I liked it. As far as doing it like SBW...I don't care about that.
The feel of the original was there...the groove..and it was recognizable. I'm not a fan of exact covers by bands. If I want to hear the original I'll listen to the original. I'm more interested in seeing (hearing) what a performer can do with a song. IMO that shows more creativity. Holding on to the basic sound or root of the song then making it your own is what interests me. Nice job.

Sounds a lot like the way I would have played it....not sure what that means. I like it. James Cotton is the one that nailed this song imo. That lick that he just repeats over and over and over...rapidly. He did this song in A.

Tommy...right on! We do classic blues to the point people recognize it, but try to make it our own. The guys in the band are like a blues history book. They love harmonica and know more about LW, SBW, and Cotton than I do. How cool is that. They have even asked me why I don't play during vocals more? I've always heard it was a sin...lol

Are you fried again crispy? What do you mean?...lol

Thanks groyster! I appreciate ya! Kingsport...not easy tp be a blues band here in the heart of bluegrass country.

Wow, your solo blew me away.
I agree with Pistolcat. In the 2nd chorus of your solo, the mood changes. It's brilliant

Check out Christelle's version of Help Me if you're interested in another great and personalized version of the song.

Thanks jd and Rev...Christelle is one of my favorite players.

Trying to wail on the blues 3rd at 2:11. The notes and nuances of the 3 draw have been a challenge for me. Take s while to hit right on the one of four pitches you need. Five if you count the blue 3rd.

Duane, great to see and hear you out with a real band. I knew it wouldn't be long before you got picked up.
