I know it's quite ambitious but I feel like I have to do it. After about 2.5 years this is the first song that I really learn it through. I was pretty obsessed with the low c harp and this song for a big while so I thought I should record it. Thanks to Todd Parrot and Harpninja for recommending the thunderbird in my thread about low harps, I love everthing about it, the reason that I use 364 in this vid is because I blew the thunderbird out of tune ! I'm not sure if it's good for a song like this - I mean I LOVE everything about it but the volume is actually quite soft and sound quality is just too posh for the song with heavy bends so after a month of practicing this song the 123 draw chord went out of tune (and got worse when I try to retune it !) so I put it away from my itchy hands and went back to the stock 364.
Also thanks to heart2harp and ant138 for the idea of making a harp diary on youtube, I got inspiration from your channels.
Anyway, enough for the story, hope you enjoy the vid even though I'm suck at keeping time on this one but the idea is to make a harp diary so I kept the evidence - first take. Comments are more than welcome : )
I like it, i have a low F, but you have the feeling there, sounds like a number i always like by John Mayal and his bluesbreakers around 1973, called 'Sonny boy blow'. I'm impressed and enjoyed this. keep em coming.
Wow! Really impressive chord work. I love these kind of chugging songs and your playing was really good. I'm going to subscribe to your tube now, so keep them coming! ---------- Pistolkatt - Pistolkatts youtube
I liked that. I have never been much into low harps or the songs that go with them. But for some reason, lately they have sparked a little interest. Maybe I'm bored or looking for something extra. Another path to explore perhaps. Whatever it is it was sparked by me getting out my G harp just to kind of "mess around." I know G isn't really a "low" harp but it is lower than what I normally play.
Now your video has increased my interest a little further and I think a little more investigation will come out of this. Unfortunately that usually comes with some added monetary involvement! No, no no....I can not buy another harp!!!!
Thanks to all you guys, I feel relief now that it turns out ok : ) Will definitely try to make it better next time. @ Tommy the Hat, if you wanna come down low c then MB 364 is a budget choice - 42$ rockin ron. Just close the gap on the low ends and it's quite a playable harp.
