Not to clutter up the board, but with all this talk about small amps, it still surprises me that nobody has reviewed the Vox mini 3 yet. As it is the follow-up for the very harmonica friendly (or so i've heard..) Vox DA 5, I'd very much like to know what this one is like!
Does anybody know?

Hey, I have one and I like it, it was a fair few effects and some good amp models( I especially like Tweed 4x10 and the AC15). You have two inputs plus an aux input for ipods and the like.
In the cheap amp thread I mentioned I also have a pignose 7-100 and when it comes to practice I prefer using that as I get more of a feel for how I'm playing due to it being more straight forward and simple. Don't get me wrong though I think the vox is a great little battery amp and as I said in the other thread when I use any backing tracks or music to play along with then I use this amp and not the pignose. It also takes AA batteries which are a fair bit cheaper than C's which I think the DA 5 took so that's a plus.
cheers Greg

Cool! Thanks!
Could you tell me which one is louder? I'm kinda considering these two amps (or perhaps a mirco cube), and thought that the pignose is perhaps more powerful and focussed? So perhaps better for busking/small gigs? I mean, apart from the aux in?

I'd say the pignose is louder but not by a huge amount. The pignose does distort as you crank it up though which gives it that pignose sound which I like, but if you want a cleaner sound then the Vox might be the way to go and you could always make it crunchier by using the different amp models.
I've used both in my school hall and although I didn't blow anyone away with either everyone heard me so it was loud enough for that, and you could always mic it through PA if you need more grunt
On a side note my father in law sometimes plays his 12 string guitar through the pignose and it sounds amazing, makes me wish I played guitar :o)
