Hey guys,on you all's recommendation ordered a Bluesmaster in F from Ron,I was having problems with the gift card I was using, and Ron was patient about the whole thing, called me back 8:00 his time, chatted with me about harps for a little while, and even gave me a discount for my first purchase, and got the harp out the next day,I ordered it Monday evening and it got here on Friday even though Thursday was Thanksgiving, that's three days coming from San Diego to Atlanta.I recommend you consider doing business with him for sure,I personally like to support independent business and Ron is making that easy.As far as the harp goes I am digging it so far,I mostly use Sp-20,LO and a Blues Master,I find the Sp-20 the easiest to play,I guess because of the recessed reeds and cover plate shape,I like the Bluesmaster a lot,but I had to get used to the coomb/coverplates,the harpmaster feels more like an Sp in my mouth, and is every bit as responsive, for me it is a toss up between the harpmaster and a good ootb SP-20,my F Sp-20 disappeared at a gig so I can't compare the JI and Et tunings, and don't know if I could hear the difference any way.

Can't go wrong at Rockin Ron's.

I have a Harpmaster in Bb and I think it's a great harp. It has a raspy sound that I like and it plays and feels real nice. I also like my SP 20's, and like you wasn't sure which I liked better. I was starting to think I liked the Harpmaster just a little better in both sound and feel. But sometimes the mind plays tricks on us and it is only wishful thinking. The hope that you found something new.

I took both harps and played them, same licks, a few times comparing. I was now really leaning slightly toward the Harpmaster. So I took them and closed my eyes jumbling the harps around then tossing on the bed to insure they were mixed up. Then I picked each one up and played a few licks again; eyes still closed. Then I picked which one I liked better. Turns out it was the SP 20.
