Hi Everybody

It'll be Christmas in a month now and I thought it would be a good idea to put your Christmas song on that thread.

I'm opening it with the famous song All I Want For Christmas Is You

@cristal
nice idea for a thread and nice playing, but its hardly a tradtional carol when it was written 1994 is it.
@ant
was that supposed to be the beautiful tune by Franz Gruber? or a different silent night.

you are right, I've listened again "Christmas carolsong"

What the hey! it's good whatever it is called.

I don't normally 'do' Christmas things until at least December. I'll try to post something here nearer the time.

I really like the more traditional approach. I believe some tunes you just can't mess with.

And another

This features a tuning I developed, circular on the bottom, Richter on top--I talk about it in the second half of the video.

thanks Digfgs! I remember the first time I heard temelo with CCR and then slim harpo. It grabbed me. I thought it would be an easy thing to do but it has taken me decades to get it down and now is about my favorite guitar sound. Walter

thanks! I did that one just around midnight on christmas eve. The phone acutally rang during the song If you listen close you can hear it. It was my best friend calling. We have been tight since we were 9 years old. Judy came out from the house and let me know who it was. I ended my session to talk to him. He had just divorced his wife and was actually that song I was singing. He said he got the vibe to call. This is the kind of stuff that happens all the time with spontobeat. Doing rehearsed songs never have taken me to such places. I am addicted! Walter

Here's a Christmas Card for everybody--an old Xmas standard with a bit of a Piedmont Bluesy twist. (Sorry, Aussie, I can't play anything without messing with a little). No harp--but there's a break in the middle where you can add your own--key is Db--I think. . .
