Just a heads up that at certain times amazon sells the Marine band deluxe New for 28.00. I just nailed 2 Bb. I could not pass them up at this price. :)
Keep an eye out for specials. I just happen to check and there they were...

the mb deluxe is the way marine bands should be-the only difference in the crossover is the bamboo comb-they both play great

I never became a fan of the mbd, although that was partly price-dictated. I think they made a mistake changing the shape of the mouthpiece, size of the holes etc. If they'd kept all that identical to the MB and improved the tolerances of things imperceptible to the mouth, that would have been a better idea.
Of course, if those of you who have mouse-eared MBs tell me that their mouthpieces/holes are identical to those of the MBD, then I am humbly silenced.

Why can I never find these? Any left? Am I searcing wrong? I only see them come up as full price...I think $48 was cheapest.

I have an MBD in G or G nat min if anyone needs them (I can put any set of reedplates).
This one is with an acrylic comb. $30, make an offer, I'll gladly send it wherever you wish.

Just search Hohner marine band deluxe and scroll down threw everything that comes up. At certain times you will see that it says click to view price in cart and if you are lucky it will say 28.00. Sometimes they say 44.00 or more... I got an A and 2 Bb's so far for 28.00 each.
There were only 2 Bb left yesterday when I found them and got both. next time I clicked on them they wer back to I think around 60.00

I haven't quite found anything as good as $28 for a Bb MBD, but...
Right now there are a handful of MB Deluxes in Eb and B for $35. Happy Thanksgiving!
