All are welcome, bring your gear, talk shop, try a new Sonny Avenger. This will be an informal get together of blues harp players who would like to hang out for a few hours on Saturday November 19th 11 to 5. Or perhaps we can longer if there's interest! It will be at the Knights of Pythias Hall located at 9 West Winter Street in Delaware, OH. It's across the street from Bunn's next to Sherwin Williams. This could become be a regular thing if we can organize. Dan D, if you read this please ask Mike to join us.
You can contact me at lonesomeharpman@aol.com for more info.

I hope you all have a great turnout/time! I would come but amplified harps, gear talk, is not my thing. Have fun! I'm Looking forward to meeting everyone there this Saturday. I can't wait to get my hands on some amps I haven't tried yet. You just never know what will give you that killer "Tone". I don't care to be stuck in a rut playing the same style I played in the 80's (all PA) and certainly believe my art has improved as a result of keeping an open mind by trying new harp playing techniques as well as purchasing the gear that best compliments it. It all comes down to what pleases us as individuals, I play both amped in a full band and acoustically in a duo. Like Walter, endless gear talk isn't always my thing. However, we have some good old friends coming together and some new friends too. It's always cool to talk about gigs and the good old days. In this venue, we have separate small rooms so we won't drive one another crazy! This is informal and all are welcome, even if you just want to watch a game or shoot pool.

lonesomeharpman: I may stop by knowing now that there are seperate rooms where people can drift off to. I thought it was just an room full of harp amps. Is it a non smoking building? I know private clubs often don't have to follow the smoking ban. I am highly allergic to cigarette smoke. I think all the years in the clubs, especially the ones overseas, screwed up my imune system. Hopefully see you saturday. Walter ---------- walter tore's spontobeat - a real one man band and over 1 million spontaneously created songs and growing. I record about 300 full length cds a year. Walter, it is strictly no smoking. I plan to set up a few amps in the main room along with a small PA. In the back of the lodge there is a dart room, we'll put the small amps back there. This leaves the kitchen, pool room and TV room free for people who want to get away from the volume. We will not use the lodge meeting room, which is off limits to non-members of the lodge. The Knights of Pythias is a group of benevolent men who donate money to charitable causes. Our source of income is the building itself that houses the Sherwin Williams store and two small shops. The rent collected goes back to the community. I'd love to see you there.

A big thanks to LonesomeHarpman, aka Ted, for putting the Columbus Ohio Blues Harp Clinic together. We had 9 or 10 people show up and everyone had a great time. This was very low-key. Some of us brought amps and let everyone try them out. Ted had set up his PA and was playing jam tracks for us to play along. More importantly than any of that, it was great to meet other blues harmonica players, relax and shoot the shit for the afternoon. Thanks Ted I really enjoyed it.

Ted: Thanks for putting this together. I was skeptial going into it but had to eat those words. I really had a good time. I enjoyed meeting everyone/seeing familiar faces and checking out the gear. Dave harris of the tube amp factory let me take home one of his point to point wired amps. It was the harp amp on the website. I used it today with my guitar and ran my harp through the princeton reverb with that tiny akg d58 mic stuffed into my beer can cooler hooked on the harp rack. Dave's amp is a 10 watt and gives the guitar that old eddie taylor sound from the jimmy reed records. I am going to have to go by his house and try more of his stuff out. Heck the guy started building tube amps in 1957! One never knows who they will meet..... I got to keep keeping an open heart. Thanks everyone, it was very simple to do,and,as requested we'll be back January 28th, 2012. Let me know what we can do to improve it? I know some of you want to buy and sell so we can use the tables to set up a try and buy. Another suggestion was to bring a band in, everyone could have a shot a playing with them. Thanks to all that came out!
