This video is from a few days ago - Howard Levy performing and lecturing at the Museum of Making Music. It is an hour (at least) of him talking about the harmonica - explaining history, bending, overblows, modes, etc. The most complete lecture on harp you'll ever find on line. You need time to watch this. But it is very well done - Howard is entertaining and funny. It isn't until an hour in that he starts showing his technique playing melody on one side and counterpoint on the other - and then plays some of his original harmonica concerto - something that will make your jaw drop.
Yes, my chromatic student knows the director of the museum, and he paid my ticket and drove me--ah, what a life. You can hear me at 1:50:50 mentioning Kratt Harmonicas-- Also Dr. Jim Antaki was there, I did not know at the time, but I caught up with him the next day. He can be heard naming the guy who founded Hering.
