I just picked up these 2 Filisko Harps on Ebay for a whopping 102 euros total. They were originally owned by Dieter Kropp, and sold to a hobby player in 2006 that basically didn't touch them. The enrgaving on them says "Filisko 8.10.97". They're both in top condition.
One of them is a G harp, with a composite comb. It is assembled with 4 reedplate screws along the bottom edge of the reedplate. The botom coverplate is asymetrical like a hohner thunderbird cover; wider on the low end. It plays very well, especially considering it's 14 years old! The sound is nice and dark, and reponds well. I was impressed by how in tune the octaves are, and how smoothly it plays across all registers. The overblows and overdraws are all there, although not all of them are equally as easy to play. I have the feeling some minimal gapping adjustments would make this thing a beast!
The other is an E Harp. It has the original comb, on which the edges have been rounded. The coverplates are assembled with nails. It's also got a good dark sound, but I have the feeling that the airflow isn't particularly efficient. I'm pretty sure the custom work on this is more basic, although both harps have been embossed, and the reeds have had the milling marks sanded out. All the overblows and overdraws are there, although the overdraws are pretty difficult to get. I have a feeling both of these harps are gonna loosen up a bit as I play them. I can feel that they haven't been played for a while.
One thing that suprised me was how wide the coverplates have been opened up. They're a good bit wider than a crossover or MB deluxe, and it definitely helps them to have a bigger sound.
OK, enough of the blabbing, here's some pics!

Here's a shot of the wide open coverplates:

They look sweet Sammy.
Looks like you got a bargain there:o)
Which countries ebay were you on?
If more harp players had known about these i bet they would have gone for more.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I bought them on Ebay Germany. I was a bit suprised that they flew under the radar, but it worked out for me! The seller was happy that they ended up in good hands.

@ jim- yes they do! Quite well in fact. I put a composite comb on the e harp, and it just came alive! I also did some very minimal gapping on both harps, and it's amazing what a difference it made in the ob/od ease. both these harps are big dark monsters! the notes feel like they are very closely linked with my brewathing, and are really flexible, but not overly responsive. It's a really nice balance. I have a feeling I'll be playing a ton of g and e harp in the future. ----------
