A few things to improve it: the distortion is way too high - it ruins any definition on the chords and low notes. Also the guitar jumps out of the speaker while the vocals are coming from a 55-gallon drum 30 feet away. Even things up, if you can. Also, you've got the accent thing down - to the point of caricature. Lighten up.
Cool man, cheers for the feedback! I recorded this on a dictaphone in my bedroom, bit of a scratch recording, didn't give much thought to levels and whatnot to be honest! But yeah, I'll take that onboard :)
As for lightening up, I'm not really sure what you mean by that, you want me to sing happier or something? I guess I wasn't in the lightest of moods the day I recorded this one :)
And the damning 'caricature' comment! Hard for me to swallow, but I apprecciate your honesty! I'm not really trying to immitate anyone's accent, not consciously at least. Who does it sound like a caricature of? lol I'm from Northern Ireland, my natural speaking accent isn't the prettiest of things to hear on record, though I do try to let it creep through whenever I can!
