Just wanted to give the forum a heads-up: I'll be playing in a harmonica showcase at the Highway 99 Blues Club in Seattle on 1/6/12 (hosted by Kim Field) and will be doing a half-day clinic with Ronnie Shellist at the Boulder Outlook Hotel in Boulder, CO on Saturday, 1/14/12, with an evening performance. I'll do my one-man band thing at both venues.

I haven't been to the West Coast since my last visit to Seattle back in 2007 and I've never played in Colorado. I'm excited to be participating in both events. I hope I see some of you there.

H99Blues looks to be a great club, Kim Field (harmonica author extraordinaire) is an awesome player and the good doc...all at once. Can't wait.

I like Boulder. Lots of good harp players there. The Outlook is a nice room. The sound is good. They manage the sound very well. The staff is nice. I've been there several times.

I met Ronnie Shellist when he was hosting the jam at Q's in Denver. We ended up playing Sonny Boy tunes for a while trading choruses back and forth. It was a lot of fun.

shoot, will just miss boulder by a day.

was in colorado last week.. if you get a chance to get there earlier adam, do it, or the lack of oxygen will be something to get used to fast! I was walking and playing harp in denver last week and really had trouble gauging breath, something that gives me no problem at lower altitude

ALERT: My trusty ol' Honda blew out its transmission and/or clutch on I-55N this morning on the way to the airport. It is unclear whether I will be able to make it to Seattle for that show tomorrow night. I have alerted Kim Field, the organizer, to the situation; we haven't yet spoken, but we will try to make this work. (I don't need to tell you how expensive it can be to rebook a ticket at the last minute, assuming you can even get one.)

If and when I get on a flight, I will try to find some time to post an update here. In the meantime, I encourage ANY forum member who was planning to attend the show to drop me an email this afternoon (asgussow@aol.com) headlined "Seattle show" and I will do my best to let you know personally whether I'll be there.

I was able to get a ticket, for an additional $450 or so, that will get me to Seattle around noon on Friday, far in advance of the show.

So the Seattle show is ON. See y'all there.

Well thank Go...(oops inadvertent religious reference).
Praise the Lo...(damn! Did it again) and pass the ammu...(hold on. This is Seattle. Way too laid back for that).
Ok...guess that just leaves thank you mister American Express.

Whew! Just saw this now - glad you're still making it out to Seattle. Will be at HWY99 to see the show. Forecast for zero to impossibly mild rain if you're investigating busking spots beforehand, but bring the warm layers.

See you there, Blackbird! I'll be busking a bit at Pikes market during the day--if it isn't too cold. . .
