I recorded with a real band over the summer and released a cd on cdbaby. Here are a few songs from it. I play the harp and sing on these cuts. Sean Carney is on guitar. His band won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and he won the Albert King Award at the IBC as well. He has recorded with many of the old bluesmen and newer guys like Duke Robillard and Jim Thackery. He is one the best young guitarists in the blues today. Mark Rubinstien is on bass. He is from Texas and we played many years together down there and he has played with a whos who in jazz, blues. Katherine Stevens is on drums. She has been my favorite drummer since we first got together 15 years ago out in California. I play guitar and slide guitar as well on other cuts with harp on the rack. These songs are all raw, unedited, beginning to end spontaneously created tracks (words and music). I just start playing and the band figures what they will do. I had to edit these some because Soundclick has a time limit on the free service I use. Walter

I posted this awhile back and wanted to bump it but it way too far back in the archives to find.

Walter, cool stuff for sure as usual - but the comment I wanted to make about your harp playing in general.. you have the most wicked draw warble I have ever heard!! Crisp, clean. I love it.

Edit: Ok, proper terminology; I guess it's not really a warble (isn't that side-to-side?) Anyways maybe it's called vibrato or tremolo? None the less, it's bad ass.

Go ahead and play the blues if it'll make you happy.

thanks for that compliment. Several big name harp players and some that are regularly mentioned here, have asked me how I do that. I have shared it with them (in the flesh before the internet) but they never have acknowledged it publicly. Do something differnt and it scares people. That is very sad. Walter
