I came across these two sites this morning with lots of history and pictures. I am of this school. Real instruments in real time. No looping, pre recorded tracks. What you see is what you get. Walter

sydeman: I know Dave. He has interviewed me for his extensive book about 1 man bands. He has assembled an incredible data base of info on the 1 man bands. I learned from wilbert harrision who is considered to be amoung the top one man bands of the 50-70's. There is very little info out there on Wilbert. He had a big hit as one with "lets work together". Wilberts son has also contacted me about what his father was like. Here is some rare footage of wilbert as a 1 man band taken close to the time I was playing with him. I played harp and when he got too high, which was most nights, I would jump on the drums and guitar and wail. He comes on around the 3 minute mark. Walter

wilbert never fit any one box. Check this one out. It is him playing guitar and drums on his feet with overdubs done on top. This was the time i was around him. He played oldies, calypso stuff, blues, country, rock. Walter
