One of my favourite songs of the early 70’s, a dynamic, pulsing rock song from the Dutch Rock band Golden Earring. I’m playing it acoustically without a backing track. I lead in with a riff then into the song. Played on a Suzuki Harpmaster in C.

Here is the real deal at a live performance of the song. Amazing!!

I still play this number on my ipod, i remember in 1974(i was just 20 yo) driving across the Nullabore Plains in my 'shaggin waggon' with this blaring out on my cassette recorder, great song to get down with, i like your intro, nice bends and slow release, well done. I had no idea they were a Dutch band, wonder what or where they are now?

Yeah this tube is in my mix too. I proposed it to my band as a number we might do - they all rejected it. Maybe it only appeals to harp players. But I think it is a great tune. And like Stan, I didn't know the band was Dutch.

Cheers Harpy!

Hey Sounds like good memories Stan!

I'm very surprised the band rejected the song Greg as it gives a chance for everyone to shine (not least the Drummer) and it's a great crowd pleaser.

I learnt to play it back in the day and had forgotten it until I heard a small section of a riff performed by Marko Jankovic on Hohner Masters of the Harmonica Youtube, which sounded like it was maybe from the song.

So I borrowed this riff:) and tacked on the melody line of the song plus a couple of fills.

I have just found this clip of Marko which shows more of the song and it definitely is Radar Love. Go to around 4 min 18 for the clip (the riff kicks in at 4 min 56.)

You've got to talk them into it Greg it's a killer song.

What a killer riff, must try to emulate this one, that growl is the true mark of a real pro. Thanks for sharing this.

cool! sounds good!

Oddly enough we had a couple request this song for us to learn for their wedding. It is a bit of a stretch for our style, but their families and friends loved it. Now we play it fairly often.

Back in the day, whenever that song came on the radio, it would make my car go faster.

The celloist (scuse the spelling)...is a good sort, her facial expressions shows she is actually enjoying jammin with a harp guy. I'm in love!!!!
