Anyone know a good but not outrageous studio in the Boston area? We're getting ready to record our 2nd album of originals and are looking for a good fit. There are lots of great places around, but we can't pay what Aerosmith pays! (nor can we play what they play) Ideally, this would be a person or studio who understands blues.

You may want to check out Club 39 Studios, if it's still in business. I've been there to record on several projects there and Bill Smith, who is both a DJ and the owner/engineer of the studio defintely knows his stuff about blues.

If you're up for driving an hour (Pawtucket RI) .. you should give Jack Gauthier a call. He did Duke Robillard's latest album (video below) .. and a great guy to work with.
