I got a Suzuki Harpmaster this week in the key of A and the notes on the first four holes sound like a sick seal barking. They will barely sound at all. It's not my technique-I've been playing for many years and I have never had this problem before. From the 5 hole on up it sounds fine and very responsive. I took the harp apart and flexed both the blow and the draw reeds for the first four holes and it helped a little but not much.
Anybody else ever get a harmonica like that?

Most of my suzuki MR350's have gone this way, no more expensive suzuki's for me.

If it's bad out of the box, return it to Suzuki; they're very responsive on warranty claims.

Thank you, Winslow. I bought it from an online store (rockin' rons) but since about everything is on computer these days, I should be able to prove it's brand new. I love Suzuki harmonicas and this the first one out of about 10 Suzukis I've bought that's a dud. I will call them. Thanks again.

I hope nobody thinks that because I got a defective harp from rockin' rons that it's in any way Ron's fault. He does not want anyone to get a defective product from him and if you have a problem, he will work with you to get it corrected. I didn't even have to call him up and tell him about it. He saw my post on this thread and called me. Ron is a super nice guy and we had a pleasant conversation about it. Customer satisfaction is very important to Ron plus he knows harmonicas which is more than I can say for some dealers I've bought harps from.

I realize that I'm largely preaching to the choir on this and that many of you already know about Rockin' Ron's great service. But if you're new to the forum and/or looking for a good place to buy harmonicas, you should consider rockinronsmusic4less.com. You can't go wrong.
