I just want to say thanks to every one that replied/posted to my request for tube swaps and control settings. A special thanks to 5F6H for the many emails he replyed to from me. Also to Deak for posting his arraingment. But every one else helped in the effort also so thanks again. Todd Green really opened my eyes at HCH with the "He plays thru 2 amps" comment. I'm playing thru one of Gregs Ultimate 57's and his Airline 77 wireless set up.
Here is what I setteled on as far as he Bassman goes.
Left to Right looking at the back. 5U4GB ---- 5881 “X2“----- 12AX7 --- 12 AU7 --- 12AU7
Control settings --- Presence @ 12, Mid @ 4, Bass @ 12, Treble @ off1, Bright vol. @ 2-½, Normal vol. @ 6-1/2 Bright channel jumped from #1over to #2 normal channel. Mic line in @ Normal #1 Cabinet miced with Sennheiser E-906
Here are my delay settings
Berringer delay pedal settings---- Level @ 8:00,--- Feedback@ between 9:00 & 10:00,--- Time is set to min. Mode is set between 200m/s & 500m/s on the bottom scale.
The Bassman sounds great alone but we tried the 2 amp approch with my Harp Gear amp and WOW what a differance.
So we powered up my HG2 and split the mic signal to each amp with a Morley A/B pedal then mixed the levels at the PA. HarpGear amp. Settings : volume @ 4-½ --- Tone @ 2 --- Mic line in @ #1,Cabinet miced with Sennheiser E-609
DAMM !!! what a kick ass tone. I can't wait to get the set up on stage this Saturday night and Rock the house. Again a Big Thanks to all that weighed in. Mike
