As many of you know I create all my words and music as I go along as a real 1 man band- drums on my feet, guitar, harp, singing, keys, all done at once. It is all one take, live. I call this spontobeat. Often times spirits visit me and sing their songs through me. Last night I was doing a recording session in my studio and a tired old blues musican came through and shared some time with me. We reminised about how the music scene use to be and he told me about how it is today. I am glad I am where I am at with the music scene today. Here are the songs. Walter

Yes same Walter. They don't here, but on your website.
I know what you mean about the old days. 25 years ago I couldn't wait to get great at playing then and play out ever night! WTF happened? MTV the internet
WOW how things have changed! OH I forgot about youtube! Youtube is a great tool to use to let people know you exist, but it is not LIVE MUSIC!
I'll stop there.
Anyway do what you do Walter!

thanks for checking the tunes guys! I am having fun messing with this ampex tape emulator plug in. I am beginning to figure it out. Learning to make nice sounding recordings is a ton of fun for me. When I get new gear the quality often suffers for a bit till I figure it all out but I enjoy posting the learning curve. Like my music, my recording philosophy is the same- figure it out doing songs vs. sitting down and mathmatically figuring things out.

The live scene sure has declined. I often wonder how any of the pro players other than charlie musselwhite make a living off strictly gigs. I stay in touch with charlie and he seems to be the only guy out there still doing it the old way. That is all that use to be out there back 30-40 years ago when I was hot on the trail. I am glad I was there then. This new thing- lessons, jam camps, etc, do not inspire me at all. We use to look up the guys we dug, knock on their doors and get to know them. It was an apprentiship thing. I am thankful I am not tempted to go with the new pay to play, pay to learn way of being able to keep away from a regular day job. Here are some from tonights session. Walter

live in the here and now

holding my fathers hand as he dies

how I deal with the blues

if we all came together

is it the whiskey or my life

the future looks bleak

predators everywhere in this world
