I did a 1 man band session tonigth with a marine band deluxe in A. The 7 draw hole was stuck. I found that out on the first song but felt a good groove so just kept at it. I played it like it worked fine. It brought back lots of memories of touring around the world with only 5 strings on the guitar, knots tied in them and capoed above the knot, tubes missing from amps, terrible PA systems, and the enternal flat, stuck hole, harps. I learned how to work around this stuff. It often made me mad but I had no money to buy these things. The moral of the story is if you got the groove that is all that matters. Walter

My concept is that if it is stuck, not to play it as if it wasn't.

This will force you into playing more creatively in the moment, as you can't rely on those "asleep at the wheel" memorized patterns and licks, but you will have to create new ideas circumventing the notes that are no longer available.

I say whatever works to get you satified Iceman! Personally my music works best when I am asleep at the wheel (dave sanger their longtime drummer played with me for years in austin :-) ) What I mean by this is the more detached I get from myself, my surroundings, my voice, and my instruments, the more spontobeat flows. Thoughts jam the process instantly. That is why I often have no idea things are broken/out of tune 1/2 the time and when I do figure it out, I just keep flowing like all is perfect.> This makes it magically right when it was wrong. Flat stuck hole harps really shock me sometimes. I use them for street gigs and starting out I hear how bad they sound. Then as I surrender to it, and flow, this process takes over and they are great harps. Of course when I am done they still are flat. As a 1 man band with real drums and cymbals, guitar, keys, harp, voice, all at once, when I hit this place it feels like a real band is behind me and I walk into the spontaneous songs that come to me from my imagination and passing spirits. It is like being on drugs and tripping without the drugs. I am addicted to my tunnel into the land of unknown adventures. I call my studio "The Tunnel of Dreams". Walter
