Great lesson!
I've been enjoying your lessons as review for stuff I was already familiar with, but this lesson was new ground for me.
Since I do overbend, I enjoy playing minor and major stuff in 1st and 2nd positions. I play a lot of minor in 3rd position and a little in 5th position.
It never dawned on me to try the major scale in 3rd....and I now I'm addicted.
I think it is a great scale in the middle octave for intermediate overbenders because the 5 OB follows 5 blow in the scale and 7 OD follows 7 draw. You already have your air going in the correct direction when you do the overbends. The last four notes of the major scale in the middle octave are draw notes. Interesting phrasing that may be easier for some.
The full 3 octaves of third position major are there on a couple of my custom harps. The 10 overdraw is the major 7th and bends up nicely the 1/2 step to the tonic note.
I look forward to hearing some 3rd position major stuff!
Thanks again!
