I can't believe I couldn't find any hits on the forum search for this player. He's my all-time favorite chromatic player, and maybe the only harp player that can actually make me cry year after year.
Hugo Diaz was a monster - a totally unique stylist in both urban tango and rural folk music of Argentina - all on chromatic.
He does figure in harmonica history books, but his recordings aren't easy to come by and his style is far from what most harmonica devotees focus on. After all this is a blues harmonica forum - tango and Argentinian folk music are a little far from the topic.
Tango aficionados do know about him and really value his recordings - as good quality dance music, which is actually a great validation of his music making.
But all that said, yes he deserves to be much better known.

Not many guys playing tango on a diatonic harmonica around here. It's not an easy style to play on diatonic harp as it's chord progression tend to modulate(change from one key to another) frequently. It can be done but it's not easy. You will also need very good control of overblows.
In Colombia there is a guy named German Pinilla. He can play Tango on diatonic harmonica

Also, from Argentina you should check Mariano Massolo's last cd. It got a cut that ins't "tango" but it's Argentiniean folkloric music. A very known standard around here. Look for Pedacito de Cielo
