I need your opinion. I have 2 Hohner 270's with wood combs.
They are for the most part stock and I am jsut learning to play the Chromatic.

I was thinking about buying 2 Corian Combs for 75.00 each and having them installed with screws. Cost of each comb is 75.00 plus 50 to install them. So I would spend 250.00 to upgrade these 2 Chromatics...Am I jsut better buying something newer for 250.00 that would be better? I dont need 2 but is always nice to have a spare.

I could also sell these probably get 70.00 each and then could use the cash 140.00 plus the 250.00 I would have spent to upgrade and have up to 390.00 to buy 1 really good Chromatic?

What is my best option?

Play them as they are. See if you like the instrument. Make the investment, if needed.

I'm not much of a chromatic player, but I really like 270's, and I think, just like with diatonics, that a good flat comb can make a difference. I would never use a stock wooden comb due to swelling, etc. And Corian is a really nice material.
