I think this is SO cool - and a great cause:

I sent 'em some $$. Here is there response:

The gift you made to the Playing For Change Foundation will bring instruments, education, music, jobs, and HOPE to communities in need. Thank you for bringing the gift of music to these communities, and for your support of the Foundation in our efforts to educate, inspire and connect the world through music.

As you read this letter music instruction is being provided at seven schools and programs supported by the Foundation in Nepal, South Africa, Mali, Ghana, and Rwanda. Our vision includes establishing more music schools and programs around the world and providing music education and instruments to children in the United States.

The goal of the Playing For Change Foundation is to make a difference in the lives of people worldwide. What we Imagine is becoming a reality, and you are making that possible. Thank you for your partnership and support in bringing joy, inspiration, connection and hope to others around the world. If you ever have any questions or want more information, you know where to find us. Our web site has updated videos and information about the projects you are supporting so please take a look! Together we are the inspiration and the community that is creating peace through music.

One Love,

Whitney Kroenke

This is great! Yeah, some harp would have been better--here's one of the first ones--if not the first--and it does have a little teensy bit of harp--still my favorite, I think. . .

Well it sounds good to me. Music, sharing music, helping out.

By and large it's getting down to being a pretty cynical, me first and fuck you two kind of a world everywhere you go, so I think it's great to see you guys taking time out to lend a hand. Long may ye prosper.
