Hello all!
I am a newbie in this forum, joined today, allthough I have been reading these interesting discussions a couple of years now.
My name is Veijo Airaksinen, and I live in Finland in a town called Tampere. My forum name is Frosty, which I use also in Harmonicaboogie page. If I ever form a new band myself I think it will be called Frosty & The Frontmen. How do like the name?
I am 54 years now, and I have been playing harmonica over 30 years, but started really practising during the last 5 years. I play in 5 bands and do also some duo gigs. One of the bands plays only blues, and the other bands do a mixture of rock, country and even some jazz tunes. I play about 30-40 gigs a year. And to add: I am not a pro, not even a semi pro.
I play mostly Hohner Marine Band Deluxe harps, I have also some Special 20s, Delta Frosts and Suzuki Manjis. I used to play also Seydels and Lee Oskars, but I have given up using them.
I ordered today six Hohner Thunderbirds, which I will get tuned to Powerbender tuning (by Jim). I have played PB tuning since last December and I love it when playing other music than blues. I use PB also maybe in 50% of the blues songs I play.
My main mic is EV RE-10. I also have Audix Fireball and Actatic JT-10 with ceramic element, but in 99% of my live playing I use RE-10. My amps are: Bassman head (a clone made my my friend) with 4x10 cabinet (Weber speakers), Deluxe clone with a Jensen speaker and Fender Champion 600 with a Weber speaker. I mostly use Bassman these days in gigs.
In my pedal board I have Rocktron Hush The Pedal, EH Micro Pog, DLS Rotosim leslie pedal, Harp Attack pre amp, Maxon A9 autowah, Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay and BB Sonic Stomp.
You can see some pictures and videos in my home page (only in Finnish language, sorry. But the picture and video page is easy to find).
Nice to be here!

Hi Frosty and welcome, I'm guessing you're from a cold part of Finland!! or is it all cold? :) I like the band name, an alternative might be Frosty and the Icicles. ----------

Hi Grey Owl!
My home town is in Southern part of Finland. Not very cold, this summer we had days with +30 degrees Celcius. In January and February it can be cold to -25 Celcius below zero.
I have watched your videos and liked your choices of the melodies you play. Maybe I will do my versions of some well known melodies too later, when I get the Thunderbirds tuned to PB.

Frosty, you're right about those Weber speakers made in my native state of Indiana. THE replacement speaker of today with yesterdays Mojo. Now everybody's gonna know. I thought it was a well kept secret until now. And Todd Parrot, he's prejudiced, one of those Hohner guys. Oh wait, I like Hohners too. And you also need to watch out for Toddlgreene and the Nacoran. You've been warned. Hey, this is tongue in cheek mods, don't hit me.
Good to have you aboard.
