I bought two Seydel's from Jim while ago. Now I had some time to actually play them for a while. They are OOTB although other one is in PB tuning (C) and the other in Richter (G).

The first thing to do was to adjust the gaps, some holes were pretty leaky and hard to play. After minor adjustment the playability improved a lot. They both OB decently without any extra reedwork. While adjusting the gaps I found out that the steel reeds can't be set as tightly as the brass ones - they will become "dead" very easily even if there is a little visible gap, so the gap needs to be quite big compared to brass reeds.

The response seems to be generally slower than with Hohner's. Perhaps that will improve if I'll do some additional reedwork. The tone is fuller and I laike the feel of the comb - it feels a bit more robust and also more slippery against the lips than the Hohner's I've got.

I guess I will half-valve the PB tuned harp. Besides that have you got any tips on how to work with the reeds & slots? (I know Jim has 8-hour video of that.) Or any tips for playing technique etc..?
