Wow... and whoever designed his website did a great job! www.guyforsyth.com
Also, my girlfriend just saw this video on my Facebook page (where I also posted it). It turns out that Guy was a member of a band called the "Asylum Street Spankers" which my girlfriend opened up for a few times (she said he's a great guy!). I guess they also crashed at my friends house when in town. Crazy!
I first became aware of Guy Forsyth when I saw him playing at Antone's in Austin, Tx in 1994. My buddy and I were on a road trip down south after graduating college in Illinois. After his set, we ran into him in front of the club. He took the time to talk with us about music and the Austin scene for about half an hour...all while being approached by at least three girls trying to take him home. I think he was amazed that anyone from the Chicago area would drive all the way down to Austin to hear good blues.
He's a great harp player, an even greater song writer and a hell of a nice guy. All of his albums are available on Itunes and definitely worth downloading. His live version of "Taxi" is a great example of what the music scene in that city was like in the 1990's.
I was playing in Holland, and a guy (not Guy -- a Dutch guy) gave me the shirt off his back... and it was a Guy Forsyth t-shirt. I'm dying to meet Guy and tell him about it.
Guy Forsyth is a monster I saw him last year here in germany and I know him since many years, since his LIVE CD. Just listen to the Opening Track, his voice is so dynamic and powerful.
