Last night I was going through my harp stuff and I have a ton of old harps I don't play any more. These days I play mostly OOB Suzukis and Seydels, but my box is full of Marine Bands and Golden Melodies (some blown out, some in working order), Hohner MS harps, some Lee Oskars, etc. What are my options as far as unloading them for some cash or a trade for new and/or customized harps?

Lots of people offer the "Send me x number of broken harps and I will fix up and send you back y number of them.

Exactly how many do you have and what keys are they? Are you interested in getting some of them back or is that out of the question?

Have you worked on them?

Edit: I know Dukeofwail was looking for thick (low key) coverplates for Lee Oskars...) Here is the thread

You might be able to get some fine Tennessee beef jerky for them...

:-( I really am going to have to go through and do an inventory, aren't I. LOL. It's on my to-do list.

I'd guess 30-40. The keys are all pretty standard stuff; maybe a low F or Ab or Db in the mix, but mostly just the usual suspect from G up to F.

As far as getting some back, that might be an option. My preference would be to trade a bunch of working and semi-working harps for a few either customized or new (preferably Seydel) harps. I at least gap most of my harps, and on some I did some light embossing. When I played Marine Bands, I'd generally open the cover plates.
