Hi guys, i have just got a Digitech RP350 effects pedal( i haggled with a pissed up music shop owner during the Blues Festival in Colne and got it for £75.00!) i then got a clean amp (Peavey KB100 off Gumtree for £25.00!) and then bought Richard Hunters patch set.
My question is does anyone have a link to a SAFE free programe to open these zipped files.
I am using a PC with Windows XL i already have some unzipping software but it does'nt seem to be able to open the patches.

Have you tried WinZip? I haven't got it any longer but it used to be good. It used to be free.

I've been using 7-Zip on my home computer the past couple of years, and it was free... don't recall having any issues with it.

You can get Winzip "free" if you "try or buy" from various 3rd parties, according to the Winzip site, but I did not want to bother with that.

I don't know if this is the website where I downloaded, it but this should work...

Exactly what is the problem you are getting when you try to extract the files? Does it try and fail or does it say that it doesn't even know what to do with the file?

Sounds like the files you are trying to run in the extractor are not zip files. They may have already been unzipped automatically when they were downloaded. Have you tried opening them straight into the digitech x-edit software?

Windows can show or hide file extensions (i.e. .zip .jpg .rar .doc etc...)

From MS support

"Depending on your settings, the file name extensions of your files may not be visible. To display the file name extensions of your files if they are not visible, follow these steps:
Open My Computer or Windows Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
In the Advanced settings box, click to clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box.
Click OK."
