Hi Rick,

I saw your art via one of your earlier posts. Very very nice.

I wanted to visit your site again but the web address in your profile is returning a 404 page not found error. There is something wrong with it.

It's funny because there are quite a few art folk and graphic artists and designers who have been called to the harp. I am a watercolour artist currently in a slump and was just pleased to see another artist join the forum.

Hey tookatooka :)

Thanks for the welcome !
Having lurked around around here a while, I slid in quietly a year so back..

Painting can be a tough way to earn a living ! I've been a full time realist painter since 2005 and started to sell work in the mid 1990's .. I take a long time on each one, so the real challenge is finding collectors who along with desiring the work are in a position to support it... I'm sure you know about that :)

It is such a privelege to paint and play music :)

I'm not too computer literate - hence the 'edit' symbol and wierd spacing on my posts ... ? !!
Not sure how that gets sorted... also not sure how to 'embed' things... Heres my web address though.

@tookatooka
Have just had a look at your site John.
Excellent handling of an often challenging medium ! Although not a watercolourist, I've painted in egg tempera and count Andrew Wyeth as a major influence.

Hi Rick, I'm pretty sure that you just need to edit your profile and add the http:// in front of the web address and it will work as a link straight from the forum.

Edit
Rick saw your art great stuff. I'm wondering if your a
fan of Andrew Wyeth. I used to live near his home in
Pennsylvania. I just love fields of hay and straw blowing in the wind.

Thanks Emile. Yes although I'm a city boy - I was a hairdresser for 25 yrs...(but I'm alright now ! :)
For me, Andrew Wyeth's work at its best has an emotionally transcendant quality that is made all the more poignant given the 'commonplace' subject matter he chose to 'speak' through.

Did you live near Chadds Ford ?

Yes I lived in Chadds Ford so I know what those fields
really were like. This was in the early 70's. His
Son used to go to the Chadds Ford Tavern a place near the farm I lived on.
